The JCRC Elite are a collective group of post - collegiate athletes working together to maximize their running careers through a high-end training and racing approach while also focusing on giving back to the local running community.

Lauren grindstaff, 5k

Lauren ran collegiately at Milligan College where she was a multi-time All - American. She owns a 5k best of 17:17. 



Natalia Rivas, marathon

Natalia was a multi-time national qualifier at Milligan College and owns a marathon best of 3:04:40 set at the 2015 Indianapolis Marathon.

Matt was a multi time national qualifier in the marathon and cross-country while at Missouri Valley College. He holds a half-marathon personal best of 1:12.02. 


Melissa Peters, Marathon 

Melissa, a former 800m specialist while at ETSU, has turned her attention and focus toward the marathon. She ran her first Boston Marathon in 2014 and is now gearing up for the 2017 Boston Marathon where she is hoping to break 3:05:00.

Gary pleasant, marathon

Gary, a life-long runner, has a personal best in the mile of 5:13 at the 2015 Human Mile in Kingsport. He recently ran a 2:58:31 at the Marshall Marathon in November of 2016. 


Holly Street, marathon

Holly is a Boston and New York City Marathon Qualifier. She owns a marathon best of 3:14:00 and a half-marathon best of 1:30:00. 


Maggie whitson, marathon

Maggie is a post-collegiate athlete that has seen success with personal bests in the 18s for the 5k, 10:37 for the 3k and qualified for the 2017 Boston Marathon. 


Justin Pinkston, Mile/5k

Pinkston is a former 400m & 800m runner from the University of Memphis. Justin has a personal best of 50.5 in the 400m, 1:56.1 in the 800m, and a 5k personal best of 16:13. 


Maven Pinkston, Mile/5k 

Maven, a former 800m runner at the University of Memphis has a personal best in the 800m of 2:25, 1500m 5:18, and mile at 5:39. Her current 5k personal best is 19:38. Maven is currently seeking her Doctorate of Physical Therapy at ETSU. 


Lee bills, 5k

Lee ran in High School; however, he recently picked running back up in the spring of 2017 where he has made great strides towards his current personal bests. His personal bests include 4:55 in the mile, 19:05 5k, and 11:05 in the 3k.

Cassie st. john, Mile/5k 

St. John is a former multi-time NAIA National Qualifier for the Milligan Buffs. Cassie's personal bests include an 18:13 5k PB and 5:20 in the Mile. 

Our Guidelines

Elite Candidates Must:

  1. Be a current member of the Johnson City Run Club. 
  2. Attend Wednesday Workouts on a consistent basis. 
  3. Qualify by running one of the times below.
